I'd Rather Leave Than Try a Softball Game
As soon as I saw the weather forecast, I knew this would not be my day to play ball in warm April air, so I packed my gear and headed to my parents for a visit. I might have jumped in the car a bit quicker if I knew it was going to rain later...
Our visit was unexpectedly short, as my dad got called back to work, and I figured it would be a quick exit. My parents are going through the process of selling their house, and it was a chance for me to keep my eye on things. It was really cool to see the house, and realize how much it has changed since I last saw it.
As soon as I got to the family home, I gave my dad a quick update on my process so far, and he drove to the field with me to meet the rest of my team. We rolled out at the nearby park and started shooting.
"Dad, the ball is moving very quickly. Could you get me something to sit on?"
"Sure," he said, "I'm in."
This was going to be fun.
It seemed like it took forever to get to the field, so I was glad when we actually started. Our team is built of some of my family friends, so I knew it would be a good experience.
We didn't start in the best location, but we ended up up to the bottom of the fifth before the sun even came out. It was a good game, and we won by a good margin, but that didn't matter.
My dad got to watch the whole thing, and he enjoyed it, even when I was at the bottom of the pile trying to figure out where to put my glove.
And I wouldn't have wanted to try a softball game in the rain. It is a lesson learned, and my dad even went back to the field with me after the game to watch me throw some balls.
My dad, he's really cool... and he was a huge help with my project!
Ummm... What happened to the dog? I just turned on the TV and there is a picture of the dog sleeping in the living room as if nothing happened. I loved your dad. I was trying 0b46394aab
